This site is not legal advice
The information on this site is general — it is not legal advice for your specific situation. Reading this site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Johnson Legal PLLC or any other attorney.
How an attorney-client relationship is formed
Under Kentucky Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18 (SCR 3.130(1.18)), a person who consults with an attorney about the possibility of forming an attorney-client relationship is a "prospective client." A prospective-client relationship is more limited than an attorney-client relationship.
Submitting an inquiry through this site, joining a waitlist, or starting a document intake does NOT create an attorney-client relationship with Johnson Legal PLLC. An attorney-client relationship with Johnson Legal PLLC is formed only when both you and Johnson Legal PLLC have signed an engagement letter, and only after a conflict check has been completed. The engagement letter contains the AI-disclosure acknowledgement consistent with KBA Ethics Opinion E-457.
Until an engagement letter is signed, please do not send confidential information you do not want others to see. The Cornerstone document-intake forms are designed to collect only the information needed to prepare a Kentucky document; they are not the place to share sensitive personal disclosures.
About AI use
Johnson Legal PLLC carefully assembles your documents using precise Kentucky statutory templates with a reliable, rule-based merge engine — we don't use AI to write, paraphrase, or alter the text. AI tools from outside companies, including Anthropic's Claude, help with reading and answering the firm's emails, texts, and intake inquiries, legal research, drafting support, and document review across the practice. Every final document is thoroughly reviewed and approved by D. Elton Johnson before delivery, ensuring the highest professional standards in accordance with SCR 3.130(5.3) and KBA E-457.
The AI does not provide you legal advice, does not represent you, and does not exercise professional judgment on your matter — your attorney does. Every document leaves the firm only after Durward Elton Johnson's substantive review.
The firm's main AI tools run under their provider's standard terms, which do not promise confidentiality. The firm has turned off the setting that lets that provider train its AI on the firm's work, but the provider can still train its AI on any conversation the firm gives it feedback on, and on anything its safety checks flag. The companies behind the firm's phone assistant may train their AI on what callers say. The engagement letter you sign before any charge also addresses the firm's use of AI-assisted drafting tools.
Outcome and efficacy
We do not guarantee any specific legal outcome. We do not represent that documents drafted by Johnson Legal PLLC will be accepted by every third party in every situation; banks, hospitals, county clerks, and courts apply their own acceptance criteria. We do represent that documents are drafted to Kentucky statutory standards as those standards exist at the time of delivery.
Practice areas + jurisdictional scope
Johnson Legal PLLC's practice is limited to Kentucky-law matters (estate planning, family law, real estate, small business, probate and estate administration, probate and trust disputes, and select civil litigation) and federal-law matters within the attorney's authority, including VA benefits claims and appeals under the attorney's VA accreditation. Johnson Legal does not handle criminal defense or matters in jurisdictions where the attorney is not licensed. If your matter falls outside that scope, Johnson Legal can refer you to another Kentucky attorney.
